1. Vehicle Transport
Transporting the Awake RÄVIK for longer distances is best done using a personal vehicle, such as a car, as public transport may not allow oversized luggage and could damage the board or accessories. Always secure the board bag and accessories with straps so they don't move during transit. You can also transport the board bag on a roof rack or in a roof equipment box, but use protective bags and secure equipment. When transporting the board, pay special attention to the Flex BP and make sure it's securely strapped down.
If the Flex BP is dropped or scratched, don't use or charge it. Contact Awake for an assessment before doing anything. If the Flex BP is ruptured in a vehicle accident, toxic gases, and flames may be released. Immediately report any suspected ruptures to emergency services attending the scene. If there is a fire, cover the Flex BP with a fire blanket or use a fire extinguisher specifically recommended for lithium-ion battery fires.
NEVER ATTEMPT TO EXTINGUISH A BATTERY FIRE WITH WATER!
2. Air Transport
The Flex BP uses lithium-ion battery cells. They are therefore considered hazardous goods and are only eligible for air freight in accordance with the UN 38.3-certification. Customers, resellers, distributors, or any other party are therefore prohibited by international law from transporting, shipping, or sending the Flex BPs via any form of air transport/freight/shipping. For information regarding utilizing Awake RÄVIK at various locations, please contact Awake in advance.
3. Sea Transport
Transporting lithium-ion batteries, to remote islands and water-based destinations requires careful planning, adherence to safety regulations, and attention to the associated paperwork and costs. When considering such transportation, it's essential to be aware of several crucial factors. Shipping lithium-ion batteries, due to their hazardous nature, often necessitates compliance with international regulations and guidelines. Ensure you have the requisite documentation, including the UN 38.3-certification for hazardous goods, which is typically mandatory for battery transport. You may also need to consult with relevant maritime authorities or the shipping company for specific requirements when transporting batteries over water. Please also mind the regulations of your country, since they can vary.
